EME-activities in Thailand!
« on: April 02, 2008, 11:45:55 PM »
Hello,
i am new to this forum and would like to know if there are any activities on EME in Thailand. I know that the group around HS2JFW tryed to be active, but i didn`t get any response to my mails!
I will be in Thailand starting 4th April until 9th may!
Would be great to meet some guys who are interested about moonbouncing!! i am very active on EME and all my antennas are homebrewed! I am running 4x12 ele DK7ZB Design. each Yagi has a total lenght of 8m!!
So, are there an interesting community in EME? In some years i will be retired and move over to Thailand for always 6 months a year! i will be QRV via EME, that is already sure!!!

73 from Germany and perhaps see you in Thailand!!

Hi Karsten

Nice antenna! Can you describe the rest of your EME gear? The 10 watt power limit on 2 m. will give you ample incentive to build a far more ambitious array (about 20 dB more, I imagine) when you are QRV EME from here!!! 73 Bob

Hello Bob,
thanks for your reply! I am already back in Germany since last week  >:(
I will build up my EME-Array in Thailand next year. I will use a 4x10 ele DK7ZB system.
So, i think that i will have a chance to work some "Big Guns" as KB8RQ or W5UN.
Here in Germany i am running an Icom IC-707MK II G and a linear amplifier with a
3CX800 Tube!
So, no problems to work many stations via the moon!
Did we meet us during the RAST meeting in April?
Best 73 from Germany,

That's one mode I've never tried so I will be interested to see your setup here some day. I live way up in the northern hill country so don't get down to the meetings  but I'm sure we'll have an eyeball someday...or maybe a moonbounce QSO!

High Guys,
just finished an EME-QSO in JT65b mode with KB8RQ and only 20 watts on my side! Was a great success for me with my self made antennas!!
