 The next meeting of the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand under the patronage of His Majesty the King will be from 11.30 a.m. at Sena Place Hotel in Phaholyothin Soi 11 (on the right-hand side of the soi some 400 metres from Phaholyothin Road near Saphan Kwai) on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
 All members are invited to this informal gathering when a buffet lunch will be available. The meeting will be in the restaurant on the lobby level of the hotel, our usual venue.
 RAST President Pornchai (Joe), HS2JFW will bring those present up-to-date on developments and activities regarding amateur radio in Thailand, including an update about the MSBAT-3 amateur radio ballooning expedition, co-sponsored by RAST, that took place on April 21.
 For those who may have listened for the beacon or television signal on 54-MHz that day, the sad news is that apparently there was a scratch on the balloon and unfortunately it was only airborne for a few minutes...

 However, sadly it was not to be airborne for long and at 12.56 p.m a second video was posted: http://www.facebook.com/video/embed?video_id=10151602512555196 showing the balloon and payload caught up in some overhead power lines not far from the take-off point.
 These and other video links will be posted to the RAST website after the meeting and there will be an update with more details, including plans for a future expedition, during the meeting.
