What's the latest at HS0AC?
« on: March 10, 2012, 04:58:33 PM »
Hello Old Men:

I have been working in Northern Thailand for nearly 10 months now, missing all RAST meetings.
Someone told me great news: donated transceivers... And that the club station might be moved?

Whom are visiting hams to contact?

Om Daniel,

The clubstation house is cleaned and ready for paint work which should be soon in progress.

That means there is definetly a chance to be QRV from the clubstation - with limited rig's.
Well anyway we are also working on an second or new location - but the old place should be ready by then ...
Still having some issues because the university is considering if they reopen or not ...
Legal issues with our rental contract as well if they do not open again ...

The campus is still adandon and the ground floor of the unviversity buildings looking still the same like after the flood - it was only cleaned out ...
Remark this includes the AIT conference center and hotel.

Hello everyone!

I'll be visiting Bangkok in less than three weeks and I'm just curious about the status of the club station.

I understand that a lot of work goes into setting up a club station from scratch. I'm just wondering what the latest developments are, before I plan my stay ;)

Regards

Hi All

what's the latest? Could someone put up a map and add a description on how to get there both from ZEER Street (shopping mall) and FUTURE PARK RANGSIT?

I haven't been there, but I saw a sign a few hundred meters after the high bridge on the left, coming from FPR.

Q: Is the club station operational?

  • How many transceivers are available? What about the antennas?

HS0AC does show up on skimmers recently, so I guess that at least someone is using the call.

THe question can be answered short and precised with NO!

The clubstation is waiting for the towers to be installed!

So there is NOT yet any opportunity to be QRV from there ...

As everybody knows the club call HS0AC is used by members from there home QTH's - until the clubstation is 100% back installed - mainly by HS0/OZ1HET - ex-Clubstation Manager!

At the RAST web page (http://www.qsl.net/rast/), there's a note saying that the "HS0AC club station (is) likely to be rebuilt and enhanced on the AIT campus", with indications that an entirely new club station (building) may be built at the site. The matter is urgent, it is said.

We'll have to wait and see how that develops, but until then, as far as I know, there doesn't seem to be an option for borrowing a club station.

I'm sure the new club station will be great once it's finished, either way.  ;)

Hello OM

I'll be visiting Bangkok around the middle of/late March and the middle of/early April. Would there be any chance to visit the club station around these dates/some activity there?
