Was no-one aware of the possibility of flooding at HS0AC?  This really does sound like a very bad oversight  :'(

Marc you are correct - we went there (15.10.2011) and put everything above desk level - but unfortunately that was not enough - I guess it was flooded up to the roof = 2m +

29.10.2011
Still 18 km to go when we reached the point to stop 'coz of the high waters on the eastern ring road and the pickup would be submerged (1.2m water!) _ I do not wanted to risk that - well 6 or 10 wheel trucks still were going further ....

If somebody would like to have one of these plastic boxes - i bought 10 so these will go for @ 200 Baht! Please let me know!

The RAST web site now has photos of the expedition to AIT on Saturday, December 10 showing graphic photographs depicting the scene inside the shack and of the equipment and furnishings, etc.

Hello again.
Sad to see how fast the air have influenze on the iron in the rigs, conseqently making all rigs nothing worth anymore.
I suggest that a person, or more, from the RAST in Thailand, make a story with pictures about the station, and mail them to all kinds of magazines, like the OZ-magazine,,, amateur-funk, CQDL, SSA, RSGB, QTC and so on, to tell the story, and make some PR for this Uniq station in Bangkok. Also this would be a PR for money collection, and hopefully a lot of money... Just suggest that RAST also have a PAYPAL.com account, that makes the donations much simple.

Good luck.

Have any plans or ideas been proposed so as to avoid a repeat of this situation?  I assume that the station will be rebuilt in the same location, which means that it will still be at risk of flooding in the future, if a similar situation occurs again.

Before we collect money to buy new equipment, we should have a rock-solid plan to avoid a repeat disaster of this type
