Any Other Ham Clubs or "RAST Branch" Meetings in Thailand?
« on: July 16, 2008, 08:18:25 AM »
Hi All,

I live in Jomtien (Chonburi province of Thailand), and I was wondering if anyone knows of any local ham clubs or possibly branch meetings of RAST in the local area?

Hi Rick,

I am also in the Pattaya Jomtien area. Near Pattaya park. You can find my details on QRZ.com maybe we can start a local meeting. Do you have ham callsign in Thailand yet?

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for the response. I'm happy to meet you. I will send you a separate email to get linked up. No, I don't have the Thai callsign yet, but I am preparing to apply for one now.

The HS5AC in Chiangmai they also had what I understand  Nice TRX HF and also Collins amp and more .
Today its only a repeater and evenings a net check in, but from that nothing is going on.
The property is god for BBqs and more nice patio under roof but all is falling apart and nothing is done about it. :'(

Where is HS5AC actually located and who is in charge of the station now?

It is a shame that that station in Chiang Mai is going to waste.

I made my first 2m QSO in Thailand yesterday with Paul HS0ZIN. Does anyone want to suggest a monitor frequency for English speakers in Chonburi province. I travel between Pattaya and Sriracha Mon - Fri from about 7:45AM and return at 2:30 My 2m radio is in the car. I will monitor 144.250 from now unless a different frequency is suggested.

Hope to hear some of you soon

There are many farang ham around Pattay city.
About 2 meters frequency, you may try 145.7125MHz for Pattaya repeater.
Do not expect they can speak english. It's should be someone can pickup your signal and make a short QSO.
