Asking for real-world HF rig import experience
« on: August 27, 2010, 11:35:02 AM »
Hello Everybody:

there is a great IC-730 costing ~ $ 250 ($ 300 with power supply).
Q1: what kind of fees can I expect, for the import license and at Customs?

Q2: You all bring the transceivers in at Suvarnabhumi? Or do you get them mailed, too?

Q3: Take the K2, how much would they charge - or is that, like so many things, uncertain?

Q4: Would you be so kind and share how this process worked for you?

Reason for asking is the need to figure out whether to buy a rig locally with sticker and all or to embark on an adventure which may turn my hair grey with sorrow for the grave - oops, I already have grey hair  ::)

Thanks for sharing - someone else will be agonising over the same choices.

A1: 200 b for import license + TAX

Have a look on the forum ...

A2: How would you get your import license stamped if you mail it !!???

If you have a good proxy who can help you to deal with the custom and NTC ... if not forget about import ...
