Hi Swen,
   8:00 - I'm assuming 08:00 in the morning as opposed to 20:00 ??
Modes - can you find out more ??

I'll see if I can interest Paul in accompanying me to a high-spot local to Pattaya.

I was hoping that you know of a local 'high-point' that has a bar and a few nice waitresses to look at, only whilst the standby operator isn't operating of course, anything else might be a distraction ;)

re portable sites, the big buddha on pratumnak hill is good spot there is
mast behind him! but it is a holy site. the sports flying club soi 87 just past
and opposite lotus tesco south is good.Away from cross mod from band2
fm bc txs, power line and made made noise very low. A club house I think
has been  built ,plenty of open ground for vhf/hf antennas.nathan has
micro-light plane nearby.2 meters i think we would have to have thai
fluent operators!

The trouble with Pratumnak is that the navy radio station is also there. There is a 200m highpoint just south of Jomtien east of Sukhumvit (looking with google earth) that could possibly be used, it'd need scouting out to see if there is access etc.

I think you are right though, maybe as Feb comes closer we will learn more details.

Dear All,

well I heared from a station in Chaiypum they work daily BKK/m on VHF with only 2x10el. Yagi .... so there is an way to work DX even on VHF ...
HS0ZEA and HS0ZFD will inspect the station in Febuary and then we will know more ...

High Gain VHF / HF Ant. easy to build ... DK7ZB Yagi Design ... ... I already built the 6el. VHF Yagi

Chers and Happy New Year 2009!
