Title: DXpeditions - who has been going to neighboring countries?
Post by: hs0zfe on December 14, 2010, 09:20:53 AM
Hello:
I heard it's easy to get a license in Cambodia. Is anyone interested in operating there for a week? I heard there is a station which can be rented for $ 100 a week, but is in poor state.

Champ E21EIC is famous - who else likes DXPeditions?

Where will you go next? Vietnam?

Dear OM Chris,

I saw your message here. I will be in HS next saturday 8 January for a three months stay and will go to Cambo around 24 Februaryi 2011 to Sihanoukville .
To get a license you can contact my friend Wim  on6tz ( xu7tzg )    on6tz@hotmail.com
You can contact me by email  on4afu@skynet.be
My Cambo call is xu7afu and my Thai call is HS0ZJF.
The station you can rent is also in Sihanoukville and belongs to a Japanese guy ... if you have some own radiostuff you better take that with you or ... contact WIM, his radiostation you can use for FREE !!!

Dear OM,

you asked : who likes DX-peditions ??? ME and I do it. But... you dont have to go far ... you even can do them from HS as there are plenty of WANTED IOTAs to activate... pure fun : AS101   AS053  AS125  AS126  AS107   AS145  ... you have the choise.
This year I will activate AS101   Koh Samui and Koh Tao
                                AS126   Koh Butang
Very easy to go there and .... you don't need very much: a transceiver and a multiband antenna, not the big stuff as it is just for fun
I use a TS570 and as antenna a Tarheel M200A, also have a superlight HEXA beam ( 10-12-15-17-20m) mounted on a 6m fiberglasmast ... not more than 20kg all together . XU is very much activated yet, so only CW still have a good responce, but the HS IOTAs have very good responce... look at the ratings on the IOTA program and you will see they are still very wanted.
