Just like the title suggests, this is indeed the place to post SEANET related questions, discussions or announcements and where you can keep in touch with the group.

Hello, my first post. VK4ATY Terry gave our club a nice talk about his visit to the Seanet convention 2009. He tells us about the next one in Shanghai and many of us want to attend. How is it there is no mention of this convention. All I can see is about the 2008 convention. How about someone giving some new information. I will hope to see some of you in Shanhai. Dear Terry,

well I couldn't attend this year in Korea! But planning for Shanghai 2010 - it will be beginning of November - something 05.11. - 09.11.2010 ... if I remember right!

But there should be some more info's quite soon on the Seanet Website ... or at least a link too.

Dear Eddie,

well it should be 05.11. - 09.11.2010 in Shanghai ... that is what the attendances of 2009 say ... but there is still no further info about on the web ... that's indeed a little bit strange .... I also want to know if this date is confirmed to make bookings ...

Very nice to see some information starting to appear on the Shanghai Convention.
Would it be possible for the organizing committee to post some details of the planned itinerary ASAP as we will be extending our stay somewhat and don't want to double up on places to visit or things to see. We expect the Australian contingent to be somewaht larger this year with a few extras from my home area interested in attending.
We appreciate the work and effort that must go into trying to get something of this nature organized in such a short space of time and wish to thank the CRSA in advance for what should be a most wonderful event. Cheers and Hi to all previous Seanet attendees from Seoul. Looking forward to catching up with you all again.

Dear Terry,

well I heard it through the grapevine ... HI! that was at the convention 2009 that they could plan this ... both QTH's are close to Shanghai (~2hours with train!)

1. Shanghai
2. Hangzhou (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangzhou)  Hangzhou - Yangtze River - Tee Plantations (http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/hangzhou.htm)
3. Suzhou - Venice of the East  (http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/suzhou.htm)

But I do not know if they still plan for this ... but I think for sure they will not include Beijing (Great Wall), etc. that is too fare away for the convention (~2h by plane!)

Hope to see you there ...

well the SEANET 2010 website shows some progress .. 10.05.2010

05. - 09.11.2010 - SEANET 2010 - Shanghai (http://seanet.cc/seanet_2010.htm)

1. Flights - Shanghai - 2 International Airports

1.1 Pudong International Airport (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai_Pudong_International_Airport) -  Shanghai Maglev Train - (Wikipedia) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai_Maglev_Train) / Highspeed Train (http://www.smtdc.com/en/index.asp)
(for whose who like the thrill ... 431 km/h!!)

1.2 Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai_Hongqiao_International_Airport) - closer to the venue

Both airports have also access to the MRT - Subway of Shanghai.

2. Hotel

2.1 Shanghai Olympic Hotel (http://www.olympic-club.com/en/)
We still do not know if they arrange some special hotel packages - Do we have to book direct or thru the Convention Team?

3.0 Program - Still unknown!

The pps is unfortunately too big for the forum (limited attachment size!) Sorry for that!

Dear All,

SEANET 2010 will be held from 5th to 9th November 2010 in Shanghai, China. I attached herewith a PPS file to introduce Shanghai to you. After seeing the slides I am sure you will agree with me that you must visit Shanghai to see the real Shanghai.

Registration form will soon be available on the Web at http://seanet.cc but even without that, you can start making your airline booking for a date with Shanghai.

Best 73
